The Peterson StroboFlip™ Compact Virtual Strobe™ Tuner is
of special interest to steel guitar players. This tuner allows the steel
player to tune each string to ‘0’. The tuner can also be programmed with
an individual’s own tuning and includes E9th & C6th pedal steel guitar

Similar in design and function to the TU-12H, the TU-15 offers
‘Accu-Pitch’ verification intonation by sounding a note when correct

Intellitouch Tuner
The Intellitouch PT1 tuner was designed to tune electric and acoustic
guitars, basses, violins, banjos, mandolins etc. without interference
from ambient room noise. It does this without the use of wires,
microphones or pickups. We have been using it here at Billy Cooper’s
Steel Guitar Shop for several years and have found that it works great
for the pedal steel. Instead of clamping it onto a key as you normally
would for most instruments, you simply lay it on the body of your pedal
steel (In the illustration below right, Billy has removed the clamp.
Doing this is optional. Works great either way). Tuning in noisy
environments is a snap because the digital signal processor actually
"feels" the instrument's vibrational energy instead of relying on sound.
The Intellitouch learns and remembers. It uses the latest in digital
technology to adjust the tuning reference to any frequency you want, and
it stores the "learned" reference in the preset even when it is turned
off! Its ease of use and reliability is what beginners need and
